How to fix failing print jobs

You are trying to get some work done and all of a sudden your printer stops responding. Then, you try to cancel the print job altogether or restart it. It continues to fail and the only thing you can think is a complete system reboot. To be honest, these things will happen often so would you restart your PC all the time? Here’s how you can fix the problem in under two minutes.

    1. Pull up the Start Menu

    2. Right click on Computer (for Windows Vista and 7), or My Computer (for XP)

    3. Select Manage

    windows_start_menu

    4. On the left pane, expand Services and Applications

    5. Select Services

    print_spool

    6. Find the service Print Spooler and right click it

    print_spool_right_click

    7. Select Restart

    8. Close the Computer Management window

That’s it! Now try printing again.
